Documenting the Scene

You must go to the scene in every case.  Animal Control can be sloppy, and the more inconsistencies you can develop and the more things you can show they did not do, the better. Take a lot of photos from different angles. You never know when something will come in handy. Also, make sure that the photos show the scene as it was that day.  Sounds obvious, but in the last case, the fact that there was an RV parked at the scene became crucial in terms of what witnesses could see and when.

I also document where and how the dog at issue was kept.  If security is good, it may not make any legal difference, but it will show you have a responsible dog owner.
