I too have seen that program, and it made me very angry that we could use these dogs for war and then leave them. I've actually done some research on it, and there are several books about it that I will review in my Sunday Book Review. Their are several memorials around the country to commemorate these dogs, and I guess the only good that came of it, was that they changed the policy of defining them as equipment, and now bring dogs home after service. The dogs were invaluable in saving lives. If you were a handler of a dog, soldiers would volunteer to sleep in your foxhole, because they knew the dogs would alert if there was an ambush. The Vietnamese army put a bounty on the dogs because of their success. Their handlers will never forget them, and neither should we.

They are to be Honored in every sense of the word. I have watched and have the video War Dogs. The video is about the dogs that served and gave their lives in Vietnam and then the government deemed them expendable equiptment, meaning our men could not bring them home where they belonged. They were left, euthinized or given to the vietnam to eat, yes they eat dog....to watch these men tell stories of their Heros is heart wrenching. They are my Heros, I salute each and everyone one of them with Honor and the Respect they so deserve. Thank you Fred, for posting this tribuite to our Heros.

These loyal best friends are to Honored. I have watched and have the video War Dogs, it is about the Vietnam War and how our four legged warriors were left behind because the government said they were expendable equiptment. I watched as men cried because they had to make the decision to leave their best friend, have them ethinized or the worst, give them to the vietnam people to eat...yes they are a food souce for them. This video is a true tribute to just the few that have served, are serving and whom have given the ultimate sacrifice...their lives. Thank you Fred for Honoring them.
